Trust Revival

Reclaiming emotional security

Hi Love Futurists,

This week’s newsletter is about something tender and deeply human: offering hope after betrayal.

If you—or someone you love—has been devastated by a rupture in trust - healing is possible. There is a path out of the pain.

One of the most powerful frameworks I’ve found is the Trust Revival Method, developed by Drs. John and Julie Gottman as part of their research-based approach to repairing relationships after infidelity.

This method is a structured, three-phase journey:

1. Atone: The betrayer takes full responsibility for their actions, expresses genuine remorse, and answers questions with honesty and care—helping the hurt partner begin to make sense of what happened.

2. Attune: The couple works to rebuild emotional connection and improve communication. This includes learning how to tune into each other’s inner worlds with empathy and presence.

3. Attach: The final phase involves re-establishing physical and emotional intimacy—creating a renewed sense of safety, closeness, and bonding.

This isn’t a quick fix. But it is a proven process grounded in decades of research on love, betrayal, and repair. Today I’m sharing a resource I use with couples in this process: Concepts in Trust Revival

If you’re moving through this kind of pain, please know: you’re not alone, and there is a future after the fracture. A new level of security can grow from even the deepest wounds.

With care,

Lindsay
